| slade | Sole \Sole\ (s[=o]l), n. [AS. sole, fr. L. soolea (or rather an assumed L. sola), akin to solumround, soil, sole of the foot. Cf. {Exile}, {Saloon}, {Soil} earth, {Sole} the fish.] 1.
