Ar. & Pers. zenjeb[=i]l, fr. Skr. [,c][.r][.n]gav["e]ra, prop., hornshaped; ???ga horn + v["e]ra body.] [1913 Webster] 1. (Bot.) A plant of the genus {Zingiber}, of the East and West Indies.
